Wonder Bread, Twinkies, mid-century offices and modern apartments

This former office building was built in 1952 to serve as the corporate headquarters for the Interstate Bakeries Corporation, a company that would later become Hostess Bakery Company and finally Hostess Brands. The 2015 adaptive reuse project converted the property to 39 multi-family apartments, and embraces the building’s history by caring on the Interstate name. That name can be seen today prominently displayed on the buildings entry canopy in an updated wordmark that is based on the original Interstate Bakeries Corporation logo.
